Punky the Platypus.

I have had the honour of testing this awesome pattern by Cubby House Crochet and Crafts. She is  part of the "Nakey" collection by Veronica.

I have called my Punky the Platypus. I used a 3mm hook and 8ply.  Just like the instructions.  The hair, however, is just the type of wool I found at Big W.  No extra work required except attaching it to her head.  Which is great for me because I love easy options for great looks.

From peices to a cuddly platypus.

Now to dress her. She is getting a                                                            little cold.

Messy hat beanies are all the rage at the moment.  A great idea for those who have long hair.  So I had to give one to Punky so she could show off her awesome hair.

It was my daughter's idea about the hair and it work out beautifully.  She has already put dibs on Punky.  lol

Minecraft

This was made for my 9 year old son  A minecraft blanket and he loves it.

My goodness it took me ages to do.  All the squares are a solid granny square and there are about over 300 of those.. I will have to say I am quite happy with the finished products.

This idea came from Pinterest and is a free graph.  I got it by following instructions and graph works by The Loopy Stitch.

It is pretty straight forward just time consuming and I get very impatient doing the same thing over and over (and over  lol) again that it took me nearly 4 months. My son  was very patient. Anyone interested head over to The Loopy Stitch.

My First Crochet CAL

So, I am currently trying to get organised for a Cal. by Polly Plum and it is not an easy task.  You see I am making it for a gift and to be honest I think it is above my crochet level.  This is what the finished product would look like but I have chosen different colours.

(This is not my picture and should anyone want to have a look or buy the pattern click here.)

The colours that I have chosen are these. next step is to try and figure out what order to put them in.

and this is what I have come up with.  Now I am not of sure of the colours.  Is it a little dark? Thinking I might need to change the outer grey to the light grey or mix it up totally and use the cream instead of the green and the light grey can be green and not use the darkest grey at all. umm decisions decisions.

This sample here only took me all day to do, Unpicking or Frogging as it is called in Crochet and redoing.  I hope it get easy lol

Edit: This is what I finally decided on for colour choose.

Yes its another Swoon bag.

Our sweet little Bethany arrived late september 2016, just around the time Swoon patterns bought out a nappy bag.  So of course I had to make it for her.

heaps of pockets inside and out

Stroller straps as well as adjustable shoulder strap.

and you cant go wrong with mickey mouse.  lol

I absolutely love it.  It can fit all of Bethanys stuff in, yet isnt too big so you cant go over board.  Being the forth child you certainly realise very quickly that you dont need to carry the kitchen sink like you do your first  lol.  It was such a blast to make.

Introducing Heidi Foldover Clutch.

Alicia at  Swoon patterns has done it again.  This foldover clutch is so easy and quick to make. I managed to make 5 in just 2 days with the help of a newborn and puppy  lol.

For these ones I have followed the pattern and have the pocket on the back.

A finished Heidi showing all the details.

A few days later I made some more but this time I modified them by not including the back pockets.

Minion Crochet Blanket.

I have been working on this crochet blanket for a while now and, to be honest, I really didn't think it would take as long as it has.  Inspiration has come from pinterest. (of course)  I love pinterest.

This blanket has been with 8ply and a 4mm hook.  Not on the straight side but i am pleased with the result for a first blanket.  I learnt a lot about crochet circles and magic circle.  Youtube has some great tutorials to help even us left handers.

A nice beautiful scallop edging to finished it off.

And Caitlin Loves it. A lap minion blanket to help keep the winter chills a bay.

Now on to the next one.  Minecraft Granny Squares..........  Stay tuned.....
