Wow, its been a while.

Wow, I didn't realise it has been a while since I have shared my creativity with my blog.  I don't know where to start.  So I will just put up a couple of the next few days. Making the bag is so relaxing.  I love matching colours and creating unique items.

The bag below is called a Vivian.  I made a blue butterfly for myself.  It is an overnight bag.

This has a couple of extras special made for my mother in law. I have added the pockets on the front and an over the shoulder adjustable strap.  This one will be heading off to a cruise soon.  This one also matches the Bonnie Bucket bag she got on mothers day. So how she has a matching set.

The next one is also a vivian.  This one will be used as a nappy bag.  This one has an adjustable shoulder strap too.  This one gave me a bit of grief when it came to matching the main fabric.  So bags just fall into place and fabric just matches together. This took a bit of searching but I am very happy with the results.  It looks awesome.

Something for the boys.

I have finally found a wallet that can be handmade and is great for the boys and men.   It is called an Gentlemans Wallet by Mrs H.  Click here to have a look at the  Gentleman Wallet.  Samantha has a great blog so it is worth checking her site out.

I had to give it a go so here we have a ducky gentleman wallet.

This is the outside closed up.  It is the size of a standard wallet.

When the wallet is fully opened.

On the inside there is an id clear pocket with card slots behind.  It can hold about 4 cards.  There are more pockets behind the blue pieces and in the back where the notes go there is a divider.

It is so cute.  I think when I make a bag for the boys I might have to make a little wallet out of the leftovers.

Today I got some vinyl to make an wallet with.  That is going to be a lot of fun.

Race Car Red Dallas Duffel

I have been sewing a lot during these school holidays and it has been great.  The dallas duffel is such an easy sew and the variety of  sizes it great.

Adjustable and removable shoulder strap.  Great for over a pram handle or across the body.

A large zipper pocket on the outside.

A spacious inside with another zipper pocket.

I love this bag. With this bag coming in small, medium, and large there is one to suit everyone in the family.

Now off to make the blue one I have cut out ready to go.

New Saddle bag from Swoon

Forgot to mention yesterday about Sandra - the new Saddle bag pattern from Swoon.

Isn't she lovely?  I will admit that when I saw this I thought nope I won't get this one but who was I kidding.  When everyone started putting up their creations of sandra on facebook I was hook. So here is my first attempt.

Adjustable Shoulder strap.

That line up was purely accidental.  Huge front pocket.  Didn't notice until I told the picture.  lol

I put a zipper pocket in all the bags I make.  It is something I look for in a bag.

There is certainly room for improvement but I am really happy now this turned out.

Another gift for another Sister-in-law.

Sewing with Vinyl.

A friend got me some cheap vinyl to try out making bags with.  I have seen people show off their vinyl bags on facebook and they look amazing.  So i thought I would give it a go.

Here is my swoon bag Evelyn for one of my sister-in-laws.

From This

 To This

When sewing the vinyl i had to use baking paper because the vinyl would stick to the foot and not move.  After some research people have suggested using a roller foot, which I didn't have, or scotch tape on the bottom of foot.  Again I had none - so baking paper it was.

It comes of nice and easy just rip one side of stitching and then the other side comes away with no problems.

The finished product is   ...............

There is a zipper pocket inside too.

I will have to say I am pretty happy with the final results.  Very happy with my first attempt at vinyl.

Another craft camp creation.

I can not believe it.  I have over one hundred followers on my facebook page.  It is so awesome.

I would like to show off my other bag I made at craft camp.  A Wizard of Oz Vivian Traveller.

The fabric came from my mum who got it from my sister so I really don't how long it has been around but I am thinking a couple of years.  I am really happy with the way it has turned out.

I 'fussy cutted'  the top so the poppies line up.

Two pockets on the sides.

The straps and piping is in red mirco-suede

The inside was a look-a-like yellow brick room with an zipper.

June 2015 Craft Camp

Hello again.  I have returned home after a craft camp.  Yes a craft camp for adults.  You learn heaps of new things if you look around at others work.  And best of all no kids and its catered for. After every meal there is a small devotional and this time the speaker was great.  Everything was awesome.

I had set a plan to make a NCW and a matching bag for one of my besties and a Wizard of Oz traveller bag.  Everything was all cut out, were interfaced, and put hardware into snap lock bags.  All ready and organised.

I tried a new bag this time it is call an Evelyn and is again by Swoon. It is great.

My friend likes orange and I look around for about a month to find the right fabric just for her.  And I found it just before camp. Check out this beautiful fabric and it was just in spotlight and on special.

On the Swoon website they have an awesome Evelyn Tutorial with pictures to help guide you through the steps.  (Click here to see Evelyn Tutorial)
This is the link to the first part and at the end you get you will get the link for the rest.

I really hope you like it Sammy because both are coming your way.  Thank you for being a BFF.

Birthday Glow Party

Our little man just turn 8 and had a glow in the dark party. It was awesome and you go to love pinterest.  They had heaps of ideas.

Give  everyone some glow sticks and put the black light on and food = Everyone happy.

We play usual party games.  pass the parcel, musical bobs, musical statues and then we did some bowling.  We put Glow sticks in coke bottles  with a little water.  Kids had a blast trying to knock over the 'pins'.

A great night was had by all.

Anything goes 'Cosmetic' Bag

What a weekend.  Not only did I finish my Vivian Bag.  Yay  She looks great.  I also did 1/2 dozen "Cosmetics" Bag.   These are done using a pattern from So Sew Easy and they are So Sew easy.  lol  Sorry couldn't help myself..  These little bags are great for your left over fabric or can hold heaps of little bits and pieces.

The pattern is so easy to adjust.  The two bags at the very front are smaller due to the amount of fabric I had left.

Side view.  These ones are empty and still stand.  Yet they are made from quilting cotton so they can be flatten without any trouble.

See. Not just for cosmetics.  My daughter grabbed one and put her little pet shop in.  They are quick and simple and for sale at my etsy store.  Homemade by Tabatha Hope

Vivian by Swoon is finished

After doing the sewalong with others from the Swoon Facebook page, I have finally finished and I love it.  Now off to make the matching handbag.

Another Lady in the House

This week I am having a go at a Swoon bag called Vivian.  She has two sizes.  A travel bag and a handbag.
http://swoonpatterns.com/shop/vivian-handbag-traveler/

One of the ladies on the Swoon pattern Group on facebook  has done a awesome job putting together a  Vivian Sewalong. (Link here)

I am really happy  with the fabric and colours.  This butterfly fabric is upholstery fabric. It is going to be awesome when it is finished.

I am really happy how the traveller one is turning out I have decided to make the handbag one too.  Hopefully they will both be finished this weekend.

'Donna' Bag

This Donna bag is by Swoon.
http://swoonpatterns.com/shop/donna-vintage-handbag/

Donna and I had issues and I had a lot of trouble putting her together.  Not because the instructions were unclear but because it was my first go at piping.  Over on the Swoon blog there is a great tutorial which is what I used to help (click here to Sew Along:Donna)

As you can see for a first timer on piping it is a little scary. One lesson I learnt when it comes to piping is slow and steady is the way to go.  Not fast and furious.

Eventually it came together.  I have been sewing since 9am and it is nearly 2:30pm.

Outside is finished.  It is so cute.  I still have to do the insides and am going to look into some sort of plastic so I can have my very own toiletry bag.

Donna is so cute.  Glad we have decided to get along.  lol
