Something for the boys.

I have finally found a wallet that can be handmade and is great for the boys and men.   It is called an Gentlemans Wallet by Mrs H.  Click here to have a look at the  Gentleman Wallet.  Samantha has a great blog so it is worth checking her site out.

I had to give it a go so here we have a ducky gentleman wallet.

This is the outside closed up.  It is the size of a standard wallet.

When the wallet is fully opened.

On the inside there is an id clear pocket with card slots behind.  It can hold about 4 cards.  There are more pockets behind the blue pieces and in the back where the notes go there is a divider.

It is so cute.  I think when I make a bag for the boys I might have to make a little wallet out of the leftovers.

Today I got some vinyl to make an wallet with.  That is going to be a lot of fun.

Race Car Red Dallas Duffel

I have been sewing a lot during these school holidays and it has been great.  The dallas duffel is such an easy sew and the variety of  sizes it great.

Adjustable and removable shoulder strap.  Great for over a pram handle or across the body.

A large zipper pocket on the outside.

A spacious inside with another zipper pocket.

I love this bag. With this bag coming in small, medium, and large there is one to suit everyone in the family.

Now off to make the blue one I have cut out ready to go.

New Saddle bag from Swoon

Forgot to mention yesterday about Sandra - the new Saddle bag pattern from Swoon.

Isn't she lovely?  I will admit that when I saw this I thought nope I won't get this one but who was I kidding.  When everyone started putting up their creations of sandra on facebook I was hook. So here is my first attempt.

Adjustable Shoulder strap.

That line up was purely accidental.  Huge front pocket.  Didn't notice until I told the picture.  lol

I put a zipper pocket in all the bags I make.  It is something I look for in a bag.

There is certainly room for improvement but I am really happy now this turned out.

Another gift for another Sister-in-law.

Sewing with Vinyl.

A friend got me some cheap vinyl to try out making bags with.  I have seen people show off their vinyl bags on facebook and they look amazing.  So i thought I would give it a go.

Here is my swoon bag Evelyn for one of my sister-in-laws.

From This

 To This

When sewing the vinyl i had to use baking paper because the vinyl would stick to the foot and not move.  After some research people have suggested using a roller foot, which I didn't have, or scotch tape on the bottom of foot.  Again I had none - so baking paper it was.

It comes of nice and easy just rip one side of stitching and then the other side comes away with no problems.

The finished product is   ...............

There is a zipper pocket inside too.

I will have to say I am pretty happy with the final results.  Very happy with my first attempt at vinyl.
