Busy, Busy, Busy....

Some more Gentlemans Wallets for the boys.  I have even cut out the ones for the girls. I am so glad I found more star wars in my stash.

I add a snap at the end to help with closure.  Especially for the little males in our lifes.

And least not forget Batman.  I had enough to make two of these.

Off into my etsy store they go.

Something for the boys.

As you all know the men and boys in our lives seem to miss out a little when it comes to homemade things.  Well my little man seems to anyway.  After really looking at my fabric I found some star wars and pokemon fabric so I made these wallets. Its called a Gentleman's Wallet by Mrs H.

I love the way these have turned out. So, again, I went on the hunt and found some fat quarters (FQ) Star wars fabric. But fitting the pattern on the FQ was proving to be a bit of a task.  So I ended up cutting a paper pattern to see how everything was going to fit.

So this is how it ended up.

From the right (yes I know it backwards but thats the way my brain works being a lefty) I cut 4 1/2 " to cover the right card slots and the top of the id pocket. The next one is also 4 1/2" to cover the right card slot and the front of the front divider. and finally 10" to cover the back and the note hold in the middle.  It works well because then I just modify a couple of pieces to the size I need.

There are still the backing of the id pocket, behind the card slots, and the backing of the front panel.  These I have done in plain black being Star wars and all.

I managed to get an extra 3 wallets. So of to sew I go.

Happy Crafting
Tabatha.

This one the fabric has been floating around for a while now and I am glad to be able to use it.

I am slowly getting my stash down.  Hopefully soon.  ;P

UFO's

The last couple of days I have been trying to work on my U.F.O's  (UnFinished Objects) but I do get very easily distracted when friends of our came around with the new caravan they just bought.

Anyway,  I started with this.

And only got to finishe two wallets. :(

Hopefully tomorrow I can finish the black one and the blue one tomorrow.  There was a little fun competition to make something with rainbows, somewhere, I cant find it but I would enter the bottom mini NCW if  I could find it.

Introducting Stella Swoon - A Weekender Travel Bag

The last few days I have been trying out a new (to me) pattern.  A weekender bag  by Swoon Patterns. Thank goodness for the people on the facebook site because I had a few questions on this one thats for sure.

Another lucky thing about the facebook page is that they have a link for a tutorial.  It goes step by step through the instructions.

So heres how it goes.

One side of the bag.  There is a matching slip pocket that might be a little hard to see.
The other outside.  A zipper pocket that goes behind the black box-like pockets
This is the top and the base and on either side there are more pockets.

The carry handles.  There is also a shoulder strap that needs to be added but would you beleive it, I didnt have the right size hardware for it.

The end product. Black, red, white, grey ready for a weekend away.

Even the liningh has two pockets.  A zipper one and a slot pocket,

This bag has heaps of pockets.  And a bag with lots of pockets is a great bag.  I love pockets. All up Stella would have taken about 4 days (from cutting the fabric, ironing interfacing, sewing and putting the whole lot together.).  It is certainly an interesting bag to make.

Oops

And this is what happens when you check and check and check.  Yep all these checks indicate that the zipper is upside down. So you sew it upside down and then realise it's upside down. go figure lol

Oh well. Unpick I go.

Guess what? Guess what? Guess what?  A bunch of talented ladies have started a sampler quilt.  So every few days or so a new pattern is available.  I have so many small leftovers from my bags so that is what I am using them for the quilt.   It is called the Splendid Sampler .
